대학원혁신본부에서 주관하는 Nature Master Class at KU 프로그램 안내드립니다.

국제학술지인 네이처지 에디터가 진행하는 논문작성법 특강으로 효과적인 영어논문작성법 및 노하우 등을 배울 수 있습니다.

총 7회 간 온라인으로 진행되며 원하는 주제별로 선택하여 수강 가능합니다. 

단, 1회차 강연에 한해 온오프라인 하이브리드로 진행 예정이니 많은 참여 바랍니다.

* 강의 설명



1. Effective Academic Writing

This module does not focus on grammar, but rather how to clearly communicate your ideas in English. 

Therefore, it is suitable for all levels of English proficiency. 

In the first section, we discuss three cognitive learning principles: cognitive load theory, cognitive bias, and reader expectations. 

The section gives advice on how to keep sentences concise, avoid ambiguity, and use logical sentence structure to improve reader understanding. 

The second section focuses on improving readability, such as through active voice and appropriate word choice, to better engage readers. 

Lastly, we cover some common writing mistakes, as well as appropriate verb tense for manus.

 

1. 효과적인 학술적 글쓰기

이 모듈은 영어 문법 그 자체보다는, 영어로 아이디어를 명확하게 전달하는 방법에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 

따라서 영어 실력에 상관 없이 모든 사람을 대상으로 합니다. 

첫 번째 섹션에서는 세 가지 주요 인지 학습 원리인 인지 부하 이론, 인지 편향 이론, 독자 기대 이론에 대해서 다룹니다. 

모호성 없이 문장을 간결하게 쓰는 방법과 논리적인 문장 구조를 사용하는 방법에 대해 배웁니다. 

두 번째 섹션에서는 독자의 참여를 이끌어내기 위한 방법에 대해서 배웁니다. 

능동태 사용(active voice) 및 적절한 어휘 선택과 같은 가독성 향상에 중점을 둡니다. 

마지막으로, 글을 쓸 때 자주하는 실수와 적절한 동사 시제 사용 방법에 대해 다룹니다.

 

2. Logical Manu Structure

This module covers how to logically structure your manu. 

We begin by discussing strategies to make the writing process more efficient and then review the importance of the Introduction.

For social science attendees, this section also includes how to write a clear Literature Review. 

We look at how to write the methodology to validate the study design and how to clearly present the findings in the figures, tables, graphs, and equations (dependent on the field of the attendees). 

For physical sciences attendees, we also review combined Results–Discussion sections. 

Lastly, we discuss how to convey the impact of the study in the Discussion section and how to write a strong conclusion.

 

2. 논리적인 원고 구조

이 모듈에서는 원고를 논리적으로 구조화하는 방법을 다룹니다. 

먼저 원고 작성을 보다 효율적으로 진행하기 위한 전략에 대해서 논의한 후, 서론의 중요성에 대해서 되짚어 볼 것입니다. 

사회과학 분야 참가자에게는 명확한 문헌 검토 작성법에 대한 가이드를 제시할 것입니다. 

또한 연구 설계 검증을 위한 방법론을 작성하는 방법과 참가자의 전문 분야에 따라 연구 결과를 도식, 표, 그래프 및 방정식으로 명확하게 제시하는 방법을 살펴볼 것입니다. 

한편 자연과학 분야의 참가자들의 경우, 연구 결과와 고찰(Results-Discussion)을 결합한 형식으로 섹션을 진행할 예정입니다. 

마지막으로, 고찰 섹션에서는 연구의 영향력을 독자에게 효과적으로 전달하는 방법과 강력한 결론을 작성하는 방법에 대해 논의합니다.

 

3. Maximising Discoverability

This module discusses how to improve the chances that your paper will be downloaded and read by others in your field. 

We begin by discussing how to write a title that clearly describes what your paper is about and helps it to stand out. 

We then review the importance of keywords and using search engine optimisation to improve the visibility of articles. 

Lastly, we focus on how to write effective abstracts that summarise what you have done. We also discuss how to write structured, unstructured, and graphical abstracts.

 

3. 논문의 발견 가능성을 극대화 시키기

이 모듈에서는 작성한 논문을 최대한 많은 관련 분야 종사자들이 발견하고 읽을 수 있도록 도모하는 방법에 대해서 다룹니다. 

먼저 논문 내용을 명확하게 담고있고 사람들의 눈에 띄는 논문 제목 작성법에 대해서 살펴봅니다. 

그 다음으로 키워드의 중요성에 대해서 논의한 후, 검색 엔진 최적화를 통해 논문의 가시성을 향상시키는 방법을 살펴볼 것입니다. 

마지막으로 효과적인 초록 작성 방법과 여러 가지 초록 형태(구조화 형태, 비구조화 형태, 그래프 형태)에 대해서 다룰 것입니다.

 

4. Navigating Editorial Decisions and Peer Review

This module covers what reviewers are evaluating, how to interpret the journal editor’s decision letter, and strategies for next steps upon receiving the decision letter. 

We will then look at how to write an effective response letter with point-by-point responses to all the reviewer comments. 

Lastly, we will discuss how to promote your article after publication, as well as strategies to consider if your manu is rejected.

 

4. 심사 의견(Editorial Decision)과 동료 검토(Peer Review)에 대한 가이드



이 모듈은 심사자가 주로 무엇을 검토하는지, 저널 편집자의 심사 결과 통지서를 어떻게 해석해야 하는지, 그리고 통지서를 받은 후 다음 단계로 나아가기 위해서 어떤 전략을 취해야 하는지에 대해서 다룹니다. 

그 다음에 심사자로부터 받은 의견에 대해 포인트별로 어떻게 답변을 작성하는 것이 효과적인지 살펴볼 것입니다. 

마지막으로, 논문 게재 후 논문을 홍보하는 방법과 원고가 거부되었을 경우 고려해야 할 전략에 대해 논의할 것입니다.
